Reviews and Ratings
I was situated farther from the hotel cabins and near to a hostel, which was a bit inconvenient having to wait for laundry at the shared facilities. The room itself was cozy with a hot shower, but the bed was quite uncomfortable. I booked a lake view room with a terrace for a lovely wine-sipping experience.
The hotel offers a mixed experience with relatively noisy rooms that were adequate for our family but lacked basic kitchen facilities. Despite inconsistent room servicing, the access to unclean showers and bathrooms was a major downside. The service was accommodating in some aspects but communication challenges and limited availability of menu items were concerning.
I stayed in room 24, which was a bit far away and remote. The showers and bathrooms were not well maintained, but you could see a beautiful view of Lake Hawea from the balcony. Room could use some paint and a bit of love.
The hotel offers spacious double-storey rooms, although this layout may not be suitable for those with mobility issues or for more than 2 guests unable to climb stairs easily. The rooms need a refresh but are generally spacious. Daily servicing was inconsistent.
Staying at the hotel was a mixed experience. The rooms, although spacious, were showing signs of wear and tear but manageable for a hostel setup. The service had its ups and downs, with a mix of helpful staff but also encountering rushed interactions. The location, near the lakeside, offered a beautiful setting for walks but didn't quite justify the price. Dining was average, with good food but understaffed. Overall, a decent stay with room for improvement.
The hotel offers split-level rooms and an open fireplace in the bar/dining room, creating a cozy atmosphere. While the quiet location near Wanaka is a plus, there are issues with cleanliness and organization in the hostel part of the establishment.
